Chris Drummond, AAF is President of Penny’s by Plaza Flowers in Philadelphia, PA. Chris grew up in the flower business as a third-generation florist. His experience began like many others sweeping floors, cleaning the greenhouse, wiring flowers, etc. By age 17, he was selling weddings and events plus managing the delivery department at holidays. He worked in the family business while earning a bachelors degree in Economics and Business Administration at Ursinus College. He has guest lectured at the University of Delaware and Penn State University.

An accomplished floral designer, marketer, and salesman, Chris has a knack for employing technology and developing systems to improve sales, brand awareness, productivity, efficiency, and morale. In the 80’s, Plaza Flowers was one of the first florists to market a convenient fax order program and the first florist to provide free cell phone ordering (when minutes were pricey). Continuing on the cutting edge of technology, Chris pioneered secure ecommerce web sites with pos integration in the early 90’s. His first web site, Pflorist.com is about to celebrate its 32nd anniversary.

His floral experience includes several presidential inaugurations and the 2000 Republican National Convention. Chris served three terms as President of Pennsylvania Floral Industry Association and was recognized as “Florist Of The Year.” Most recently, he led the Society of American Florists as President and Chairman.
